If any emails are triggered by user actions, you will need to have a valid Notes mail address as the sender. We moved to Outlook mail nearly 15 years ago, and have been running Notes/Domino applications this entire time and will continue to do so.
We have a single, shared mailbox and all users update their Location document(s) to include that mailbox instead of their obsolete Notes mailboxes that no longer exist.
